Hi!
My name is John Jesus and I am an Artist-Producer, Coach, and Author.
I am married, father of two, living in Portugal by the beach.
I am about one thing: to create a better world for all. This is reflected in all my music — and most recently in my new book called The Self Aware.
One of my first vivid memories comes from seeing pictures on TV of the Gulf War and thinking to myself “this is not right… I thought we were done with wars…”
It is as if since that time I knew I had to do something about the immense suffering in the world. This has always been the reason why I decided to make music: to spread a message of “love and unity”.
In my new book —The Self Aware— I explain in detail the process of self-transformation that I have been applying since late 2007. If the message I was trying to convey in my music wasn’t clear enough, now, with this book, there is no room for doubt: we can create a heaven on this earth, and the way to do it is already known! But do we have the will?
As an Artist-Producer, I have released 3 albums. I have a professional music studio where I make my music and also record and produce for other artists.
As a Coach I am mainly focused on helping people overcome addiction and improve their mental health.
I was born in Lisbon, and in 2005 I moved to London to study music at the Academy of Contemporary Music.
In 2008, after finishing my studies, I started to teach guitar and bass guitar. I have taught over 100 people in a 1 to 1 setting, and also in schools in group settings. Millions of people have watched my YouTube lessons, and last year I released The Ultimate Reggae Bass Course.

I am extremely proud of all the music I have made. But this book takes the trophy for the thing I have done that I am most proud of.
This isn’t just a book that I wanted to write. This was a book that I HAD TO WRITE! Because, in my honesty, I had no right to die and take with me to the grave what I have learned and come to realized through the application of a Process that I began applying in late 2007.
This is not just a book for Self-Transformation. This is a book for world transformation!
Big claim, I know…
…but it is the truth.
Reggae has always been my musical passion, especially Bob Marley. Without a doubt, this genre is the reason why I am an artist.
When I arrived in London I put together a reggae band with colleagues from music school, and we played everywhere, from pubs to festivals. It took longer than expected, but in 2012 I finally released my debut album called The MessAge.
Since then I released two more albums:

In 2018, with my first son on the way, I moved back to Portugal and built my music studio.
Most recently I have released a few singles in Portuguese, and I am in the process of finishing a new album to be released this year.
